A new addition

So after loosing their dog Kase last September, my mom finally decided that she was ready to bring a dog into their home again. After much searching, she found Kaylee. Kaylee is a half sister to our lab Kayak and she is a little ball of sass! You never would have guessed it on her first night home, but she certainly has attitude! She is my mom's little princess and follows her everywhere. We can't wait to watch Kaylee grow up.

Remodeling

So we have lived in our house for almost 5 years now and have hated the kitchen floor since the day we moved in. We finally chose tile that we liked and pulled up the old floor. It is amazing what you can find when remodeling. There were 5 layers of flooring in the entryway and the bottom layer of linoleum in the kitchen looked better than the top layer.

We also decided to knock out a hole in the wall between the kitchen and the dining room. It actually didn't take much work because there was already a hole there behind the cupboards.

Joe had never layed tile before and he did an amazing job for his first time.

Yucky Stomach Flu

So who has the stomach flu two times in three weeks? That would be ME! How crappy is my luck? Literally! The week of Valentine's I spent puking and on the couch and now the last week of February I spent 3 days on the toilet and on the couch. Joe also got sick the second time around so we were both on the couch for awhile. We seem to both be on the mend and back at work today. Hopefully, I won't get the flu again in another couple of weeks.

Playhouse Disney Live!

Ashlyn and Izzy spent last Friday night with us and on Saturday morning we went to see Playhouse Disney Live! Joe even came with us and appeared to be having a good time. I did see a smile once or twice.

The girls had a good time eating popcorn and drinking lemonade.

The day didn't end with the Disney show! We went back to our house and had lunch and then it was off to swimming at the YMCA. I don't have any pictures of the good time we had there though because they have a stupid rule about no cameras in the building.
It was a great day had by all and we can't wait to have them back again soon!

Family Updates

So exciting things have been happening on both sides of our family this past month. To begin with my brother Kyle got engaged to his long term girlfriend Katie. They also closed on their house in the same week! We are very excited to welcome Katie to our family. They are getting married this June and have asked both Joe and I to be in their wedding so that will be fun.

Joe's younger brother Jake and his wife Alex had their baby on Monday January 28th! Nicholas Alexander came into the world around 10:30pm weighing 5lbs, 14oz and was 19 inches long. He is a tiny peanut and Joe thinks that he looks like a turtle. Lily is very excited to be a big sister and that Nicholas is finally here! Joe and I were also honored to be asked to be Nicholas' godparents.
It's only February 1st and this is turning out to be one busy year!

A Busy New Year

I can't believe that it is only the 9th of January. It seems like this month has gone on forever.

Factor and I went to probably our last NADAC trial the last weekend in December. It was pretty uneventful. He placed first in tunnelers so that was cool but we did a lot of training in the other classes so we didn't get any other ribbons.

Our New Years celebrating was pretty low key. Joe had to work and I spent the evening with Angie and her kids. Her kids are so dang cute.

Ashlyn made it until 11:50 before she fell asleep and she did not want to wake up to celebrate.

We wish everyone a happy and eventful 2008!

Merry Christmas

We are so blessed to have our family and friends and we want to take a minute to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. May you enjoy time with your loved ones and be able to experience the true meaning of Christmas.

We pray for our loved ones that are serving in the military right now, may they know that we love them and wish them a safe return home.

We love you all!
